#TF2016 marks our fifth anniversary.

We are thrilled to mark this landmark in our history by returning to the capital city where Tempting Failure first debuted and we are now looking for artists to join our programme.

It will be held from the 21st to 29th July 2016.

This application form offers you the chance to apply to a paid opportunity to exhibit or perform as either a Career Artist (5+ years experience) or via either of our two Emergent programmes.

Artists applying must consider how their work fits with the themes of our unique festival and the type of artwork we champion as well as responding to our 2016 provocation: "In-Utero."

We are particularly keen to see inventive responses from the fields of performance art, noise/sound art, and fine art.  We will always champion those that take risks or create extreme action for the body.  This year we are also equally keen to hear from artists who may use spoken word, alternative comedy in performance art or view transgression through more obscure or lateral directions.

We also welcome applications from disabled or neuro-diverse artists.

UPDATE: To read our artistic director's recent statement on the provocation in-utero, click here.

Each application will receive a fixed fee of £100 per Emergent or £200 per Career programmed commission.  Emergent artists applying from outside London may be entitled to apply for an additional travel hardship grant of up to £100.

We will encourage each Career Artist commission to seek additional funding on top of this.

Each selected artist will also receive a complete package of in-kind support, production, technical liaison and documentation worth an equivalent value of up to £600 (dependant on the stream they apply via).

This funding is made possible through the gracious support of the ARTS COUNCIL ENGLAND.

The TF2016 selection process will take place across three stages, with stage two being conducted by a panel of leading industry professionals, including Manick Govinda (Artsadmin), Dr. Traci Kelly, Dr. Paul Clarke (Uninvited Guests), Dr Maria Chatzichristodoulou (LSBU), Pamela Vision (Arts Council England) and TF Family Artist, Allan Taylor who are independent from Tempting Failure CIC.  All applicants should expect to hear the outcome of this process within 6 weeks of the closing date.

Special thanks also goes to Yol, a TF Family Artist, for creating the cut-out illustrations that featured in our countdown imagery.  For more information about Yol click here.
