This is a FREE workshop brought to you by Tempting Failure.
The workshop is for those aged 11 - 16.
Have you ever wondered how to capture a story about where you live? Turn it into a drawing and then breath life into that drawing through action?
Then this is the workshop for you. Offering a light hearted day that introduces you to the world of live art, without you needing any experience at all!
The workshop will encourage you to develop your own sensitivities to the urban environment, creating stories through drawing and performance making.
You will go on a journey of discovery around your local area searching for materials, souvenirs and treasures to use on our paper landscape at Matthews Yard. Create images, textures and artworks to be captured with time-lapse photography as an individual or in groups learning new skills and approaches. The landscape will be yours to take away with you as a momento and a reminder of how to use new ideas and perspectives in your approach to art and performance.
Jonathan's artwork and practice evolved from painting and scenography via a Performance Making background. He has devised and run several courses at RADA and Goldsmiths College. His drawing continues to form the instigatory element of his practice, embracing diverse ranges of process acquired through related developments, these can include photographic techniques, painting, textiles, paper-cutting and sculptural projects, or design for performance.
This workshop is open to all, should you have any disability or ability concerns or requirements please email in advance: firstname.lastname@example.org with the subject heading "HALFTERM"
