This workshop will pare down the materials of performance to two elements – you and another element. It is often a habit to include lots of objects, lighting and so on, which can result in generalising or stereotyping the elements we have. Or considering them as separate from our selves. In working so minimally, what can be discovered about your work and your process in making? What do these materials mean in relation to your body in a space?
This workshop will allow you an opportunity to test things out, with no pressure for a final product. This is so you can understand your own processes, how your body relates to materiality, and what this might mean for your practice.
It doesn’t matter what kind of performance practitioners you are, whether interested in plays and the theatre, visual or physical performance, Live Art, Performance Art, comedy etc, as this workshop is for all involved in performance-based practices.
