Uninvited Guests with Oh, The Guilt - Breaking News: Croydon Edition

  • The Spread Eagle theatre 39-41 Katharine Street Croydon, England, CR0 1NX United Kingdom (map)
Circle Queen.jpg

We call on people to gather with us in Croydon, to read the day's newspapers together, to speak and to listen. This is what the papers say according to you, the news at The Spread Eagle. This is your chance to get some things off your chest, to have a rant, speak truth to power and really vent your spleen.

We will be newscasters casting out bad news, and we will exorcise the day’s concerns through the curative power of post-punk noise.

In these troubled times of uncertainty and division, Uninvited Guests return to their 2012 show Make Better Please and rework it with Bristol band Oh, The Guilt.

Uninvited Guests originally collaborated with Oh, The Guilt on Breaking News as part of Sanctum, Theaster Gates' first public project in the UK.

About Uninvited Guests and Oh, The Guilt

Oh, The Guilt are a Bristol-based three piece who weave ice cold atmospherics, rousing crescendos and overwhelming volume into waves of swooning beauty.

Also from Bristol, Uninvited Guests are celebrating their 20th anniversary of performing together. They make entertaining and provocative experiences that explore urgent social, cultural and political ideas by combining the visceral with the virtual, high-tech with low tech means. Recently Uninvited Guests have become increasingly interested in making work in which the audience share in the authorship and shape the outcome of the event. Their award-winning work has toured nationally and internationally, showing in the UK, China, Germany, the Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, Switzerland, Slovenia, Austria and Australia. Uninvited Guests are produced by Fuel.
